Anticipation

It's building. I'm heading out to NYC with Sharon tomorrow. We're taking a red-eye flight from LAX to JFK on Virgin America. Again, VA is the only way to fly. Our flight leaves at 930pm and we're arriving at 6am (ooooh weeee)

I'm stoked to get out to the East Coast and just enjoy the surroundings. Walking, subway'ing, and the city life...it's going to be great. Good eats around the way, great spots to dance and listen to music, and everything else under the moon.

I'm going to meet up my boy Peter and his girl Scarlett. Fun times are ahead for the 4 of us...it's going to be ridic! Wish me a safe flight and I shall update you guys on my trip by either blogging out there or when I get back, but other than that....

It's that time again...album review.

Just got the N.E.R.D - Seeing Sounds album and I have to say, I like it every much. It's N.E.R.D at it's finest. Chad on the boards and 'ments, Shay and Pharrell on the mics (on the 'ments as well)...and most importantly, the band behind the music. It's just good music. Arrangements, layers, transitions, samples, originality all encompassed in a dirty dozen track list. As corny as it sounds, it does make you "see sounds". I gve it a 4 out of 5. Enjoy it, because I did.

1. Time for some action - you got that busta rhymes feel at the beginning w/ that note from gimme some mo...the track hits

2. Everyone Nose - single from the album. if you haven't heard it by now, you're sleeping

3. Windows - catchy tune, not really my flav...but still solid

4. Anti-Splatter - this is my shit right here. shit is grimey and bitter. reminds me of Thrasher from the previous album.

5. Spaz - you heard if you seen the zune commerical. shit reminds me of fortified live and then all of sudden, the drums hit you in the face and tells you to get the fuck up

6. Yeah you - the bass is nice on this track. it's soooo smooth. get your girl and chill out w/ her to this one here.

7. Sooner or Later - pharrell at his best...singing

8. Happy - like the title, the track really does make you happy....the tracks starts w/ some power chords and then turns into a more head nodding track throughtout. one of my favs.

9. Killjoy - reminds me of How Does It Feel off of pharrells lp. fast track w/ cow bells and a running bass.

10. Love Bomb - hard drums w/ pharrell singing again....niiice

11. Yeah You - cleannnnnnnnnnnn. it gets your body moving in all the right ways. great rhythm, guitars, lyrics and vibe. one of the best tracks

12. Laugh About It - trying to figure out the rhythm because i swear i've heard it before, but the track is a nice send off to the album.

great weekend...

Had a pretty kickin' weekend. Friends and drinks all around.

Friday: Tina's grad celebration (kind of)

So the story goes...it went from BLVD 3 to Firecracker back to BLVD 3 and the to Cabana Club. I'm not gonna say anything, I was there for Tina, but after so much flip floppin' and waiting in a line for about 45 min at Cabana Club and not really moving, Cabana Club was a no go (thank god). Ended up at Firecracker w/ Sha, Reagan and Jer. Had a blast at firecracker as usual...great music all around and the drinks were flowing.

*side note* I love you Tina, but your friends....not so much.

Saturday: Good times w/ good ppl

Went to Portos w/ Sha and Jess. Those two are a handful together, =P. Of course, we had the potato balls and the steak sandwich...don't sleep son! After the eating session, went walking around meDENA green for a min. Peeped the shops and what not...chillness

After all the hanging, went back to Sha's to chill and later ended up at Viv's uncle's restaurant. Did some soju drinking w/ some old and new friends. Talking about this and that...especially about riding bikes. I'm gonna get my fixie soon...Mike and Frank got me hyped up for that shit, ha. A successful saturday indeed.

Sunday: One word.
